Meet Jordan!
Hey, that’s me!
My name’s Jordan Nelson, which you likely gathered from the name of the company. I’m a wedding filmmaker based in Peoria, IL. I’m a husband to my lovely wife, Jessica, and a father to my son, Callum. I'm all about capturing people and their stories.
I love the power of video, because there's nothing like having a living, breathing, moving representation of your wedding day. My specialty is creating extended highlight wedding films, but I can tailor the product to your needs and even send you raw footage from your wedding day! I'm grateful for the privilege to capture such an important and special day. I would love to capture yours!
A bit more background.
I grew up near Rockford, IL. My friends and I would create these silly video skits, and it was one of my favorite things to do. That’s when I realized I loved videography and storytelling (as goofy as our stories were at the time). I attended Bradley University from 2012-2016 and graduated with a Communications - Television Arts degree. A few months later, my wife Jess and I got married! Did I mention she’s the best? Cause she is. Then in Feb. 2021 we had our first child, Callum! We just love the lil’ guy!
I’ve worked full-time for Habitat for Humanity and State Farm, and I’m currently on the marketing team for a utility energy efficiency program. I also have a YouTube channel teaching others about wedding filmmaking!
I started filming weddings in May 2017 and haven’t turned back. I’ve shot over 40 weddings, met the coolest people, and have gotten to capture the most special memories. My hope is that I’ll be the easiest part of your wedding planning and day, while providing you the most emotional and lasting wedding product that you’ll enjoy for decades. I count this all as an absolute honor and privilege to be a part of.
My Wedding Filmmaking Philosophy
A couple things that might set Jordan Nelson Productions apart is that I’m a purely solo videographer and my focus is on extended highlight wedding films.
From the comments and reviews I’ve received after friends and family watch the film online, one of the most common is that they barely noticed I was even there and are surprised how many moments were captured despite that. I’m a huge fan of that - I want to capture everything necessary to create a phenomenal wedding film, but at the same time fly under-the-radar as much as possible. YOU are the center of attention, not me! Flying solo allows me to do that. In addition, shooting solo also helps me deliver the film to you super quickly!
I love extended highlight wedding films. I include every couple that walks down the aisle during the processional and every bridal party entrance into the reception. I want you to have ALL the highlights in one film. Essentially, I want to tell the full story of your day so you can be reminded year after year what your wedding day was like and also get to see moments you totally missed. Wedding days are almost always a blur for you, so my hope is that your film cuts through the fog and let’s you clearly re-live your day!
At the end of the day, if you’re happy, then I’m ecstatic! I know your wedding day means so much to you, so it’s an honor to have any part in it :)
